HP ProDesk 600 G1 Desktop Mini PC

HP ProDesk 600 G1 Desktop Mini PC has always had issue of periodic hang on restart and sometimes even cold start where it can not see the drive or can not see the boot and sometimes claims we need to run a fruitless boot repair.

I found another person communicated similar frustration who thought it was related to his change over to SSD.  We never changed to SSD but we had a major medical software that had to be updated periodically and it was a 14 hour day if run efficiently to get all 50+ stations updated.  Part of their required procedure was to run Windows UPdate before installing because, apparently, their installer periodically relied on some component that was released from Microsoft since the last update.   It took a few time delays for me to realize I had to check this model before my normal lap back to that area or suffer arriving to a requirement to press a button to restart for an extended installation to complete.  At tht time I discovered that I would return to see that it could not see the hard drive on restart... frequently but not always.

The other poster never mentioned if HP had come up with a better fix than kill the  power and turn it back on and maybe it would start.    I got good at that procedure when I figured out that it was likely some timing error duing restart /boot over which I had no control

The past several weeks, a new employee to that station is doing something that is not admitted. I have left that machine running continuously for the past few years and no issues.  However, this new person who denies any involvement has sunndely been taking an hour break when arriving at the office claiming that the boot repair program runs automatically  when she arrives.

I wonder if anyone else has ever received a better more solid fix.  I think it likely came along after one of the Hp or Microsoft updates becase it was not discovered instantly but after the first time it became something to expect most of the time so never powering down or restarting became the solution so only I would be the one who did that and knew not to run the boot repair.
