Good day
I have an HP Prodesk 600 G4 that I can't get to boot up. It keeps giving the 3 Long beeps (White) 4 Short beeps (Red) error code. I did the research on the beep codes and it suggested that it is the Power Supply.
I replaced the 250W power supply (PN: 901760-002) with a new 250W power supply (L08417-002) as suggested and provided by our local HP Parts Distributor.
After replacing the power supply, I am getting the same beep error codes.
I have read some of the forums and tried the following, but now of this worked:
- Unplug power cable and hold down power button to drain power, then switch on again.
- Remove CMOS/BIOS battery, wait for 30min, insert battery and switch back on.
On some of the forums, people are suggesting replacing the power supply with a 90W or 120W power supply, or get a power supply with a "smart switch".
Before I go back to the HP Parts Distributor, is there anyone that had similar issues and got it solved.
Or should I tell the customer to throw this HP in the bin.
