Hi @Mindride
My pleasure.
Let the Forum know how a Windows reset goes.
I will keep my fingers crossed hoping a reset fixes the problem.
Again, back up data before doing any kind of OS refresh, reset, or factory recovery.
Good luck!
Regards

Update:
New windows 10 home install with no additional programs installed. Not even an email or sign in.
Running windows in safe mode for about 18 hours - no freeze up
Running windows 10 normal at idle with network wifi on - it froze up in about 2hrs.
Running windows 10 normal at idle with network wifi off - running for about 8 hours so far with no freeze up.
Im going to wait a few more hours to see if it freezes. Then i will try to update the wifi drivers.
Next test will be a direct network cable with network on to see if the hardware is working properly.
I will narrow this down, i am determined!

Hi @Mindride
Very good.
Sounds like a WIFi driver or a Bluetooth problem or a WIFI card hardware problem.
I don't know the version of Windows you are running but HP offers various Windows 10 driver updates and Windows 11 driver updates for your PC at this HP Site. You might find better Realtek WIFI drivers and Bluetooth drivers to test for stability.
Probably a faulty WIFI card if the latest HP drivers don't help.
Try ethernet with WIFI enabled and then with WIFI disabled. The PC may still freeze using ethernet when WIFI is enabled even though you are not using WIFI to connect to the network.
I think you are close to a solution.

Actually the wifi was on when i did the ethernet cable test so that takes one thing off the list.
There were 2 driver updates available: One was an Intel graphics update and the other was a bios update for the HP.
Both updates went well and its been running with just wifi on and no direct ethernet cable for 4 hrs. It would have usually frozen by now.
Im trying this test one more time with just wifi on and the computer idle for a few hours. If it does not freeze then i will try to install some software and go from there.
The issues mostly point to the wifi but its hard to tell. I will be doing updates here as I add software and see if anything changes. 🙂

Ok so as we stand now the computer has not frozen up in about 20 hours. The wifi is on and the direct ethernet cable is disconnected. I installed the programs i needed and so far so good. If everything continues to work this will be my last post. If not ill be back 🙂
