I am having Windows 10 OS loading issues after last night Wolf security update. Desktop gets stuck on screen with dots spinning in circles. I performed hardware tests which are OK, no issues. With HP tech support I tried to remove latest quality update which was successful but still cannot boot in Windows 10. Also performed CMOS reset on mother board but still no success. Tried various system recovery options (except system restore) without any progress. I am able to logon to harddisk with C:/ prompt. I would like to recover some important files before trying system restore.

 

Please let me know any suggestions to solve this issue and recover data. This machine is still in warranty (only 1.5 years old). Really frustrated and will appreciate any guidance to help solve this issue.

I was able to resolve this issue through Windows Recovery option where I was able to reset windows to a earlier restore point which was few day ago. 

 

A big relief and now I have backed up all the personal data. 

 

Good lesson learned.
