HP desktop 595 pavilion

pavilion 595 desktop
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

computer just off warranty 10 day ago 1 year old. pushed the start button and box came up that said boot device not found and please install an operating system. ran diagnostic testing drive 1  smart check passed and short DST passed. what do I need to do from here buy a new computer and can I salvage my documents and pictures and other programs and e-mail from the old one. I have 1 T hard and 128  SSD thanks for any assistance's

I understand that you are getting a boot device not found.


Please perform the hard reset and check.


Hard Reset:

1) Shutdown the computer.  

2) Unplug all the Adapter and peripherals connected.  

3) Remove the Battery. ( not for Built-in Battery computer ) 

4) Press and hold down the power button for 15 to 20 seconds.  

5) Plug-in the Adapter and put the Battery back into the computer if it's a (removable battery)

6) Try to turn on the computer and check


If the issue still persists, please perform the system recovery.
