HP Compaq Elite 8300 (i7 verison)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a very similar problem to this thread , same start boot and everything except that the cleaning of thermal paste did not fix my problem.

https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Boot-and-Lockup/HP-Elite-8300-SFF-boot-problem-5-beeps-green-l...

I have the i7 version of the Elite 8300. i did the same thing as that person, i took out the components and tried building a computer out of them but nothing booted. I bought a motherboard to start with but the computer didn’t start so i returned it, bought another one, and it didn’t start again. i decided that i would put the computer back together so i did. Now when i try to start it up it makes the 5 beeps. I should mention that i got the computer to boot once with the first mobo i bought however i still returned it because i wasn’t satisfyed with the motherboard. i have tried testing other components (psu, ram, graphics card, motherboard) they work, most likely not the problem since the 5 beeps mean either cpu failure or ram. Anything helps. Thanks to everyone who responds.

Hi:

5 beeps in that model series means a memory issue or a failed motherboard.

See the service manual at the link below, chapter 11, page 303 for how to troubleshoot the 5 beep code message.
