HP Pavilion 590-p0027nq
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

when I plug in my computer, the power button lights up for a second. After that , it turns off and i have to press it again. After pressing it again it also turns on (the button but nothing shows on screen ) . Only after like 1-2 minutes image shows on my pc , getting the boot with the hp logo. Is it normal to boot that hard?

Hi @TheGuyNeedshelp

You can run Windows, this is good.

Did you run diagnostics to check hardware?

It seems you may have a couple of problems. It is tough to troubleshoot multiple attempts to start the PC and slow POST times in a Forum.

Multiple Attempts to Start the PC:

The power button could have problems or the MB has a problem.

The power supply could also be causing this issue.

No video and slow POST Times:

A possible BIOS problem or a component problem.

A BIOS update for your MB is available Here.

A component problem or a peripheral connected to the PC could cause this issue. Disconnect unnecessary peripherals. Reduce the PC to a minimum configuration; only use RAM and CPU. Remove the graphics card. Use CPU graphics to see what happens.

It is best to have a local PC Tech check the PC in your situation.

Regards

Hi @TheGuyNeedshelp

Welcome to the HP Forum.

This boot process you are seeing is not normal. Having to depress the power button multiple times to attempt a POST is not a good sign.

Can you run Windows or are you stuck at the HP logo? Do you see spinning dots below the HP logo which indicates Windows is trying to load?

It is tough to say if you have a hardware problem or a Windows boot loader corruption problem.

Have you tried running HP Diagnostics at startup to check hardware?

Start the PC. Tap "ESC".

Select "F2". If possible, run system and component tests.

There are too many causes to this problem to isolate the source in a Forum. I would have a local PC Tech take a look.
