Hey guys. This may have been added already but i have yet to have found it. I got this HP h8-1070t from a friend and bought the ZOTAC GTX 980AMP! to use with it. When i attempt to boot the desktop it gets stuck on the HP boot screen and then has this beep code ____ ---. Underscore is long beep dashes are short beeps very quickly. I am using a 650W PSU in it so power is not an issue. Using the intel Core i7 2600 with 16GB DDR3 RAM. 256GB SSD. I have disabled legacy boot and UEFI boot as well from my bios which is the i guess only version of 7.12 REV-A. Nothing seems to work and i have cleared the cmos, reset the bios settings. GPU works in other boards. If anyone wants to help me solve this issue then hit me up would love the extra brainpower. PS yes i have already invested in purchasing a new board but i want to hold off until its definite that i will need a new one, so please no immediate suggestions to get a new pc or a new board. Also someone can suggest a board that can support the LGA1155 socket.

Hi @Kashiff
Nothing is certain in life but a BIOS version 7.xx indicates your MB should not have a UEFI BIOS. The initial HP consumer Desktop PC UEFI BIOS version started at 8.xx.
The 980 generally requires a UEFI BIOS unless the Zotac has a dual BIOS switch.
Some later version socket 1155 MBs did provide UEFI BIOS support.
You would have to shop for a UEFI BIOS compatible socket 1155 MB if you want to use the 980 with the existing CPU and RAM.

Honestly i thought so as well. When i searched and saw it needed UEFI i was puzzled as my bios does show UEFI as a boot option and Legacy as well. I kept at it then realised no matter how much i tried including disabling legacy altogether it still did not boot. I am planning on getting an Asus P8Z77-V LX Desktop Motherboard LGA 1155. Do you think this one will support it?

I did a measurement based on the size it does fit in the chassis i have. The desktop has enough space to accommodate it. If not ill just do an open frame desktop and invest in a case after. The case i have being used is a standard ATX case and its a chunky boi. Besides i've always wanted to do an open bed setup so its a win win.
