So my laptop has recently failed to load, I've run a SMART check, which has FAILED.
Failure ID: PTWDWM-85DASC-XD7WLK-60CUO3
Product ID: T0U83UA#ABA
If the hard drive needs replacing, what type of hard drive would I need to buy for my module, thank you.

@IcyBot -- please do not "double-post" your request.

Given that you wrote a "laptop", a 3.5-inch-wide desktop disk-drive will not fit.
So, what is left is either:
- any 2.5-inch-wide "spinning" disk-drive from any manufacturer,
- any 2.5-inch-wide SSD (solid state device) from any manufacturer,
- for a very new computer, your computer might have an "M.2" memory-stick.
Any SSD is faster than any "spinning" disk-drive.
In your case, see: https://store.exporthub.com/components/samsung-m-2-solid-state-ssd-msata-128gb-mzntd128hagm-000l1__7...
for one possible replacement "M.2" memory-stick. You can purchase it from any manufacturer, not just from HP.
If your computer is less than 12 months ago, contact HP Support to exercise a claim against the HP Warranty -- they will repair/replace your computer, at their expense.
