I have this PC which is behaiving oddly whenever I start it up. Basically I have to unplug the cable marked SATA from the hard drive and plug it back in every time I start up otherwise the screen remains black... This is probably the oddest problem I've had in a while and I'm really not sure what to do. So far I've tried a number of black screen solutions like enabling legacy boot but none of them have resolved the problem. Any suggestions are appreciated!

Hi! @codecan, Thanks for stopping by the HP Support Forums!
I understand that the Hard drive has to be unplugged every time when powering on your PC.
Don't worry I will try to help you out.
It is most likely the power supply is getting old and hot.
Try replacing the power supply on your PC and check if it helps.
Also, Try updating BIOS on your PC.
Try running system diagnostics on your PC.
Refer this link to know how to run system diagnostics on your PC.
Please keep me updated.
Have a wonderful day ahead! 🙂
