Help! Laptop has black screen boot device not found.  how do I fix this please? And have I lost all my work saved on the laptop? Thanks

To answer your last question first...

 

Yes you have lost the files to Windows on this laptop because the drive is dying and Windows can no longer read it.

 

But you CAN try to retrieve the files from it (but not settings or applications) by removing the drive, connecting it with an adapter to a working PC, and then using File Manager to locates your files and copy them to the PC.
