Hi @Fluff53,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The error message you're seeing indicates that your Windows installation has encountered an issue and cannot proceed. This can happen due to various reasons, including corrupted installation files, hardware issues, or an incomplete installation process. Here are some steps you can take to try to resolve the problem:
1. Restart the Computer
- Click "OK":
- Click the "OK" button to restart your computer and see if it can proceed with the installation process.
2. Boot into Safe Mode
Restart and Enter Safe Mode:
- Restart your computer and press F8 or Shift + F8 repeatedly before Windows starts to load.
- Select "Safe Mode" from the Advanced Boot Options menu.
Check for Errors:
- If you can boot into Safe Mode, check for any errors or issues that might be causing the installation problem.
3. Run Startup Repair
Access Advanced Startup Options:
- Restart your computer and press F11 (or Shift + F8) to enter the Advanced Startup Options menu.
Select Troubleshoot:
- Choose "Troubleshoot" > "Advanced options" > "Startup Repair".
Run Startup Repair:
- Follow the on-screen instructions to perform a startup repair. This may fix any issues preventing Windows from installing properly.
4. Check Hard Drive for Errors
Access Command Prompt:
- From the Advanced Startup Options menu, choose "Troubleshoot" > "Advanced options" > "Command Prompt".
Run Check Disk:
- In the Command Prompt, type chkdsk /f /r and press Enter.
- Allow the check disk utility to scan and fix any errors on your hard drive.
5. Reset the PC
Access Advanced Startup Options:
- Restart your computer and press F11 (or Shift + F8) to enter the Advanced Startup Options menu.
Select Troubleshoot:
- Choose "Troubleshoot" > "Reset this PC".
Reset the PC:
- Follow the on-screen instructions to reset your PC. You can choose to keep your files or remove everything.
6. Reinstall Windows
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
