Hi @Charlieboy4

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I understand the situation. The message “No Boot Device Found” with error code 3F0 indicates that the system cannot detect a valid operating system on the hard drive. Since diagnostics passed, the hardware is responding, but the boot configuration or operating system may be missing or corrupted. Below are recommended steps to address this.

Perform a Hard Reset

This clears temporary states and ensures hardware is reinitialized.

Power off the desktop completely

Disconnect power cable and wait 30 seconds

Reconnect and power on

Access BIOS Setup

Verify if the hard drive is detected by the system firmware.

Turn on device → Immediately press F10 repeatedly

In BIOS, check Storage or System Information

Confirm the hard disk is listed

Restore BIOS Defaults

Incorrect boot order or settings can prevent startup.

In BIOS → Exit tab → Load Setup Defaults

Save changes and exit

Restart the computer

Run HP Hardware Diagnostics

Ensures the hard disk is healthy despite boot issues.

Turn on device → Immediately press F2 repeatedly

Select Component Tests → Hard Drive

Run both Quick and Extensive tests

Use HP App Diagnose & Fix

Detects driver, firmware, and boot configuration mismatches.

On another Windows PC, install the HP App from Microsoft Store

Use Diagnose & Fix with the affected desktop connected via network or USB recovery

Attempt System Recovery

If the OS is missing or corrupted, recovery reinstalls Windows.

Turn on device → Immediately press F11 repeatedly

If recovery environment loads, follow on‑screen instructions

If F11 does not respond, create a Windows recovery USB using HP Cloud Recovery Tool

Reference: HP PCs - Hard disk 3F0 boot device not found error | HP® Support

These steps ensure the desktop is checked from firmware detection through recovery. Since the keyboard and mouse only respond in diagnostics, BIOS and recovery remain the key paths. If the drive is detected but recovery does not start, creating a recovery USB with HP’s Cloud Recovery Tool is the next precise action.

Take care, and have an amazing day!
