Hi @Bignana2

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

A boot loop can be frustrating, but there are several potential solutions to fix it. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you troubleshoot and resolve the issue with your HP laptop:

1. Perform a Hard Reset

A simple hard reset can sometimes clear up issues related to power or hardware that may be causing the boot loop.

  • Turn off your laptop completely.
  • Disconnect all external devices (USB drives, printers, external monitors, etc.).
  • Remove the battery (if it’s removable).
  • Hold the power button down for about 15–20 seconds to discharge any residual power.
  • Reinsert the battery (if removed) and plug in the charger.
  • Press the power button to turn on your laptop again.

2. Boot into Safe Mode

If your laptop is stuck in a boot loop after loading the initial boot screen, you can try to boot into Safe Mode, which starts Windows with a minimal set of drivers.

To enter Safe Mode (if the laptop is stuck in a boot loop):

  • Power on your laptop, and as soon as it begins to load (you see the HP logo), force shutdown by holding the power button down for 5–10 seconds.
  • Repeat this process 2–3 times. After the third time, Windows should automatically enter Recovery Mode.
  • From the Recovery Mode options, select Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings > Restart.
  • Once your PC restarts, you’ll see a list of options. Press 4 or F4 to start in Safe Mode.

If Safe Mode works, it’s likely that a recent software update or a driver conflict is causing the issue. You can try uninstalling recent updates or drivers to narrow down the cause.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
