I have the HP M01-F1006 Desktop. I have a hardware RAID LSI 9210-8i card that is currently in RAID mode. To put it in a storage pool mode I need to IT flash the drive. There are many guides that are easy to follow but my issue appears to be with getting the computer to boot from the USB drive into the EFI for the controller card.
ive gone into BIOS and changed it to have both UEFI and Legacy have the USB drives first. After that I’ve tried it with just UEFI.
here is the guide I’ve been following.

for the life of me I cannot get this box to boot to the UEFI and cannot figure out what else I can do. My next option right now is to get a live version of Linux and try that way.

Sounds weird, but try disabling BOTH secure boot and legacy boot. I need to do this on newer HP PC's to boot the USB EFI to update the DMI on the mainboard after it's been replaced.
Even with both of them disabled in BIOS you'll still see the USB as a valid UEFI boot option as long as you've created the stick properly.
