HP EliteDesk 800 G1 SFF PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Dear ladies and gentlemen, hi!

As a private person and computer enthusiast I bought from one not-for-profit organization HP desktop.

The desktop is second-hand and it was manufactured in 2016. The product name:

HP EliteDesk 800 G1 SFF PC

https://support.hp.com/lv-en/document/c03832938#AbT0

At home I realized that there is a password for BIOS on this desktop.

How I can unlock this password?

Appreciate your help!

Hi:

See the service manual at the link below, chapter 11, page 250 - 251 for how to clear the BIOS P/W.

If that doesn't work, then the previous owner set the stringent security option in the BIOS, which prevents removing the jumper from clearing the P/W.

Enabling the stringent password disables the ability to reset the password by moving the jumper on the system board.

If you lose or forget the password, the system board must be replaced. This scenario is not covered under warranty.
