Friends,
I have an Hp all in one 24" pc. I did an update & since that, my computer will turn on, the Webcam searches for me, & the tone plays that its rebooting but the hp logo or windows never comes on the screen. The screen stays black. You can see the lights on behind it but you can't see your cursor. I've tried every reboot method & it always goes back to a black screen.

Try these steps:
Perform a Hard Reset

- Unplug All Cables: Disconnect all external devices such as USB devices, printers, and external storage devices. Also, unplug the power cable from the power source.
- Press and Hold Power Button: Press and hold the power button for at least 15 seconds to drain any residual power.
- Reconnect Power: Plug the power cable back into the PC and connect any necessary devices like keyboard and mouse.
- Turn On the PC: Press the power button to turn on the PC and check if the issue is resolved.
Boot into Safe Mode
- Turn On the PC: Power on your PC.
- Interrupt Startup Process: As soon as the PC starts, press and hold the power button for 10 seconds to force a shutdown. Repeat this step three times to initiate the Automatic Repair environment.
- Access Advanced Options: On the fourth restart, you should see the "Preparing Automatic Repair" screen. Let the PC finish this process, and it should bring you to the Advanced Startup Options menu.
- Navigate to Safe Mode:
- Select Troubleshoot.
- Select Advanced options.
- Select Startup Settings.
- Click the Restart button.
- After restarting, you will see a list of options. Press 4 or F4 to start the PC in Safe Mode.
Uninstall Recent Updates
- Log into Safe Mode.
- Open Settings: Press Windows key + I to open the Settings app.
- Navigate to Update & Security: Select Update & Security.
- View Update History: Click on View update history.
- Uninstall Updates: Click on Uninstall updates. Look for the most recent updates and uninstall them one by one until the issue is resolved.
Update or Rollback Display Drivers
- Boot into Safe Mode.
- Open Device Manager: Press Windows key + X and select Device Manager.
- Expand Display Adapters: Find and expand the Display adapters category.
- Update Driver: Right-click your display adapter and select Update driver. Follow the prompts to search for updated drivers.
- Rollback Driver: If updating the driver does not work, right-click the display adapter again and select Properties. Go to the Driver tab and select Roll Back Driver if the option is available.
I hope this helps.
