I have the HP Prodesk 400 G3 SFF business DESKTOP PC, and I changed the case.

All the cables fit fine in the new case, apart from the USB3 & USB2 front panel headers being wired slightly differently - and when booting it would give two errors about the USB3 & USB2 front panel connectors being unplugged. But I fixed that by soldering/bridging two pins and those two errors go away.

The only issue I have is the CHFAN error when booting says it's disconnected. The case I bought has built-in case fans and it runs on sata so I have nothing to plug into the CHFAN (chassis fan) header on the motherboard.

Can someone give me pointers about the pinout, so I can bridge a connection so it thinks it's plugged in and stops giving me the error each time I boot.

The chfan is a 4-pin, brown connector in the motherboard, with blue, yellow, red, and black wires.

Can I just grab a pin jumper and see what happens?

Any help much appreciated!  Thank you!

Quick update.

I just took the old chassis fan out of the old case and have it tucked away and attached to a spare 2.5" hdd caddy inside the new case as a quick fix to remove the error.

Any input would be of great help. 👍
