Hi @Ladyhawk3,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP All-in-One computer is not turning on and has had similar issues before, here are the steps you should take to resolve the problem and consider next actions:
1. Basic Troubleshooting
Power Check:
- Verify Power Source: Ensure the computer is plugged into a working power outlet. Try a different outlet or power cord if possible.
- Check Power Button: Confirm that the power button is not stuck or damaged.
Disconnect Peripherals:
- Disconnect all external devices (USB drives, printers, etc.) and try turning on the computer.
Inspect Power Cable and Adapter:
- Check for any visible damage to the power cable and adapter. Replace them if necessary.
Perform a Hard Reset:
- Unplug the power cable from the computer.
- Press and hold the power button for 15-20 seconds.
- Plug the power cable back in and try turning on the computer.
2. Diagnostic Indicators
Check for Lights and Sounds:
- Power LED: See if there is any indication of power (e.g., a power LED light).
- Sounds: Listen for any beeping or fan noises when pressing the power button.
Observe Display:
- Black Screen: If the screen is black but the computer seems to be on, the issue might be with the display or graphics card.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
