Hi guys, i bought my pc last year, and now it only start in safe mode. If i try to start it the regular way, the power just suddenly goes out and my pc try to start again. The moment the power goes out is kind of random, sometime it does not even load the lock screen and some other times i can log in and then after a few minutes logged in the power goes out. I don't know what to do, that is why i am seeking for help.

Hi @Baptisteeeeew,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your Victus by HP 15 gaming laptop is experiencing some hardware or software issues that prevent it from booting normally. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the problem.
Check for Overheating
- Clean Vents: Make sure the laptop's vents are not blocked by dust or debris. Use compressed air to blow out any dust.
- Cooling Pad: Consider using a cooling pad to help dissipate heat.
Run Hardware Diagnostics
- HP Hardware Diagnostics: Restart your laptop and immediately press the Esc key repeatedly until the Startup Menu opens. Then press F2 to run the HP Hardware Diagnostics. This can help identify any hardware issues.
Update Drivers and BIOS
- Safe Mode: Since you can only boot in Safe Mode, update your drivers (especially graphics and chipset drivers) from Device Manager.
- BIOS Update: Check HP’s support website for any available BIOS updates. If you're unsure how to update, let me know, and I can guide you through the process.
Check Power Supply
- AC Adapter: Ensure that your power adapter is working correctly. Try using a different outlet or adapter if possible.
- Battery Check: Remove the battery (if removable) and run the laptop on AC power only. If it starts normally, the battery might be the issue.
System Restore
- If you can access Safe Mode, you might try performing a System Restore to revert your laptop to a previous state when it was working correctly.
- Go to Control Panel > Recovery > Open System Restore and choose a restore point.
Scan for Malware
- In Safe Mode, run a full system scan using Windows Defender or a third-party antivirus program to check for malware that might be affecting startup.
Check Event Viewer
- While in Safe Mode, you can check the Event Viewer for any critical errors that might give clues as to what's causing the shutdown. Type Event Viewer in the Start Menu and look under Windows Logs > System.
Reinstall Windows
- If none of the above steps work, you might consider backing up your data and performing a Windows reset or a clean installation.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
