Hi @Ziggy210

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thanks for reaching out—and I’m really sorry you’re dealing with this right out of the box. A black screen with fans running full speed usually points to a firmware or hardware initialization issue. Let’s walk through a few steps to help bring your HP Omnibook Ultra Flip back to life. 💻🛠

Perform a Hard Reset:

  • Disconnect any external devices connected to your laptop.
  • Turn off the laptop and unplug the power adapter.
  • Remove the battery if it's removable.
  • Press and hold the power button for approximately 15 seconds to discharge residual electricity.
  • Reconnect the battery and power adapter, then turn on the laptop.

Check Display Connection: Ensure that there is no physical damage to the display. If possible, connect your laptop to an external monitor to check if the display is the problem.

Update BIOS:

  • If your laptop powers on, visit HP's support site to check and install any available BIOS updates. Incorrect BIOS settings or outdated BIOS can cause hardware issues like black screens.

Boot in Safe Mode:

  • Try booting into Safe Mode to see if the issue is related to software or drivers. Restart your computer and continuously press the F8 key (or Shift + F8) as it boots up.

Check for Hardware Issues:

  • Inspect any removable hardware like RAM modules and the HDD/SSD for proper installation. Re-seat the memory modules and storage drive.

Try a System Restore (if possible):

  • If you can access the system or an external monitor, attempt a System Restore to revert your system settings to a previous point before experiencing the issue.

If your laptop is new and still under warranty, consulting HP's Phone Support for repair or replacement options is advisable. They can guide you through more advanced troubleshooting or provide you with warranty service options.

If my response helped, please mark it as an Accepted Solution It helps others and spreads support. 💙 Also, tapping "Yes" on "Was this reply helpful?" makes a big difference! Thanks! 😊

Take care, and have an amazing day!
