Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)

My desktop computer locked up so I unplugged it and plugged it back in.  After I turn my computer back on about 10 minutes later the screen goes black and the power button is blinking amber and beeping five times in a row then stops for a minute and then goes back to beeping in that sequence.  How do I get it to stop?

is it just 5 beeps shorts, longs ?

because nothing here, should be  3 long and 2 short ?

 Computer beeps or a light blinks during startup

It is five long beeps

Open the computer, if not already done, if you have two memory modules, remove one, test
If nothing better, try, with the other module
take the usual precautions for the operation
