Hi @Rimuwru,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you're having trouble accessing the BIOS on your HP laptop and it keeps booting directly into Windows, you can try the following steps.
Use the Shift + Restart Method:
- Click the Start button, then click on the power icon.
- Hold down the Shift key and select Restart.
- Your laptop will restart and bring up the Advanced Startup Options menu.
- Select Troubleshoot > Advanced options > UEFI Firmware Settings.
- Click Restart to enter the BIOS/UEFI settings.
Access BIOS Directly:
- Shut down your laptop completely.
- Turn it on and immediately start pressing the Esc key repeatedly (or sometimes F10 or F2, depending on your model) until the Startup Menu appears.
- From the Startup Menu, press the appropriate key to enter BIOS/UEFI settings.
Disable Fast Startup:
- Sometimes, Fast Startup can prevent access to the BIOS. To disable it:
- Open Control Panel and go to Power Options.
- Click on Choose what the power buttons do.
- Click on Change settings that are currently unavailable.
- Uncheck Turn on fast startup (recommended).
- Save changes and restart your laptop.
Check BIOS Update:
- Ensure that your BIOS is up to date. Sometimes updating the BIOS can resolve access issues. Visit the HP support website for your laptop model to download and install any available updates.
Try a Different Key:
- Depending on your HP model, the key to access the BIOS might be different. Common keys include Esc, F2, F10, F12, or Delete.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
