Hi @DLBCAB,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Envy Photo 7855 printer is unresponsive and gets stuck with a specific display pattern, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can try.
- Power cycle the printer: Disconnect the power cord from the printer, wait for about 30 seconds, and then reconnect it. This action can often resolve temporary issues and allow the printer to restart properly.
- Reset the printer: Locate the Reset button on the printer. It is usually a small hole or button on the back or bottom of the printer. Use a paperclip or a pin to press and hold the Reset button for a few seconds. This action will reset the printer's settings and may resolve the issue.
- Update the printer firmware: Visit the HP Support website and search for your printer model. Look for the latest firmware update available for your printer. Download and install the firmware following the instructions provided by HP. Updating the firmware can fix bugs and improve overall performance.
- Check for paper jams: Open the printer's access doors and check for any paper jams or obstructions. Remove any stuck paper carefully to ensure smooth operation. Sometimes, a paper jam can cause the printer to become unresponsive.
- Perform a partial reset: If the issue persists, you can try a partial reset. Unplug the printer from the power source and disconnect any cables connected to it. Wait for 60 seconds, then plug the power cord back in while holding down the # and 3 buttons on the printer control panel simultaneously. Keep holding the buttons until the printer turns on or you see a reset message on the screen.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
