I have replaced my graphics card with a Geforce GTX 1050Ti. When I boot up, the start-up process freezes at the blue HP splash screen and won't respond to the ESC key

I checked on that PC spec page. The newest BIOS is 7.15 Rev. A, which means it is a legacy BIOS vs the 8.** UEFI BIOS (which HP did not release). The Geforce GTX 1050Ti card requires a UEFI BIOS in order for the PC to accept the card.
If you search around, you will not find a UEFI BIOS for those older PC's.
Long story short, you will need a newer motherboard or an older graphics card. A GeForce GTX 660 Ti is the best you can do but you will need a 450w power supply.
I'm not an HP employee.
