The cloud recovery is to be used only if your drive is defective or you cannot boot with either your old disk or the new one drive and do not have backups.
Can you boot up into windows with your old disk drive? If not when you need the HP Cloud recovery or any image backup you might have made since you bought the computer..
If you can boot windows up using your old drive AND THE OLD DRIVE CAN PASS DIAGNOSTICS then proceed with the clone procedure I outlined earlier.
To run disk diagnostics, tap the ESC key after powering on and run at least one pass through memory and disk diagnostics.
Do not attempt any repair, upgrade or cloning if disk or memory is faulty.
You might consider taking the system to a nearby shop. You can call HP lto locate a recommended shop.

HI
Just managed to be able to find the time to get back to this. {Having just brought my wife from hospital }
I am determined to follow your specific route in cloning my HD onto the NEW SSD as you’ve tried n had good experiences with this method.
To this end I’m looking for the western digital free cloning software. I think I’ve found it but, the title is Automatically Clone a Data Drive with Acronis True Image for western Digital on MacOS.
i ran the diagnostics on the OLD HD & all have passed
My questions now would be is this the same procedure for the WindowsOS ? do i have to now use the Acronis Rescue Madia which it states must be used to clone a drive?
where might i get the software to download the Acronis Recue Media file?
If not would you possibly have a link to the Free Cloning Software for Windows ?

I read the instructions for WD cloning software (Acronis) and it will not work unless one of the drives is WD, SanDisk or G-Technology. I suspect you do not have any WD approved drives and need to use another cloning tool.
Your new SSD is a Kingston and that company also uses Acronis
https://www.kingston.com/en/support/technical/acronis-download
Please look for a license or key that can be used to activate Kingston's version of Acronis.
If bought the SSD online you may want to visit the site and look for how to get the license key. Normally it will be mailed to you so check your inbox and your junk mail folders.
I have never used "MERCURIAN REFLECT" and do not know what went wrong originally, Do not buy any cloning software especially Acronis as their current True Image product requires a subscription. You will need that kingston version of Acronis or any of these if you cannot get that Kingston key. I have used Clonezilla before.
Can you boot your current system with the old disk drive in place?
After you cloned the kingston did you remove the old drive completely and put the new one in its place?
If so, what was the error message when you powered up?
Macrium has a forum where you can ask for support if you still have time left on your free trial.

HI
many thanks a again ! Ill try to look for a ACRONIS / KINGSTON Compatible piece of software firstly prior to truing any other way as you suggest.
I’ve always been able to boot up the PC with the ORIGINAL DRIVE, ITS JUST very slow !!
I’ve tried a few times to remove the original hard drive & replace it with the SSD but, all i get is a BLACK SCREEN-with the central hp logo. So I’m unable to get past this. I have to the revert to the ORIGINAL HD.
interestingly enough I’ve just turned on the AIO with the ORIGINAL HD FITTED & there’s a BIOS UPDATE TO BE INSTALLED ?
