@JBaller38, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To install the Standard SATA AHCI Controller driver for your HP Pavilion 590-p desktop, follow these steps:
Step-by-Step Guide
Access the HP Support Website
- Visit the HP Support - Software and Driver Downloads page.
Identify Your Specific Model
- In the search bar, enter your desktop's exact model number (e.g., "HP Pavilion 590-pXXX") and press Enter.
- If you're unsure of the exact model number, refer to HP's guide on finding your product number - https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/ish_2039298-1862169-16
Select Your Operating System
- Choose the operating system installed on your desktop from the provided list.
Locate the Storage Drivers
- Under the "Driver-Storage" section, look for the "Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver" or a similarly named driver. This driver includes the necessary SATA AHCI controller drivers.
Download and Install the Driver
- Click on the "Download" button next to the appropriate driver.
- Once downloaded, open the installer and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
Note:
If the "Driver-Storage" section or the specific driver isn't listed for your model, it's possible that the necessary drivers are already included with your operating system or managed through Windows Update. Ensure your system is up to date by running Windows Update:
- Press Win + I to open Settings.
- Navigate to "Update & Security" > "Windows Update".
- Click on "Check for updates" and install any available updates.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
