Samsung NVMe M.2 SSD's will work in the HP Zx20 series of workstations as a data drive via the PCIe slots. You will need an M.2 PCIe adapter card and there are several posts on this forum detailing which brands and models of PCIe cards that work. I would strongly recommend you avoid the really cheap PCIe adapter cards found on ebay and stick with a known good quality brand.
You will also need to download and install the Samsung NVMe driver.
There is plenty of information on this forum regarding using NVMe drives as either a data or OS/boot drive in these workstations. Please search the forum for more information.

Having a heatsink on the M.2 card is preferable but not absolutely necessary.
