Hi @Karel29,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

We understand that your HP notebook is powering on (with fan noise and power light), but the display remains black, and the Caps Lock key is blinking. This behavior typically indicates a hardware issue, and the blinking Caps Lock light is part of HP's BIOS Diagnostic Indicators. Each blink pattern corresponds to a specific hardware component.

What You Can Try Now:

Basic Reset

  1. Turn off the laptop.
  2. Unplug the charger.
  3. Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds.
  4. Plug the charger back in and try turning it on.

Reseat RAM (if you're comfortable opening the laptop)

  • Power off and unplug the laptop.
  • Open the back panel and remove and reinsert the RAM sticks.
  • This can fix issues if the RAM is slightly loose.

BIOS Recovery

If the blink code indicates a BIOS issue:

  1. Press and hold Windows + B, then press and hold the Power button for 2-3 seconds.
  2. Release the power button but keep holding Windows + B until you hear beeps or see the screen light up.

I hope this helps.

Take care, and have an amazing day!
