I recently purchased an EliteBook X G1 and want to install Linux Mint 22.1. I followed the instructions for disabling Secure Boot and changing the boot order to prioritize my USB drive. However, I need to switch from UEFI to Legacy BIOS, but I can't find that setting in any of the menus.
When I reboot and press F9 to boot from the USB Linux drive, I do get the GRUB menu. If I select "Start Linux Mint (compatibility mode)," I can boot into Linux, but the system freezes, and I lose access to both the mouse and keyboard. Similarly, if I boot in the normal mode, I initially see the Mint logo, but then the screen goes black.
