Intel Rapid Storage installer locks up computer, driver incompatible.

HP Recommended

Microsoft Windows XP

I have an HP z420 Workstation with Windows 7 and XP x64 Dual-Booted, running in IDE Compatibility mode. I want to get the AHCI Capabilities working, but I need the driver to work. Intel’s installer, provided on the Driver page for the z420, locks up the computer (as in the mouse isn’t responding, Ctrl Alt Delete isn’t working, etc.), forces me to reboot, and it gives me 0x0000007B. I have to use the last known good configuration to get it to boot into XP. So I do that, and I go to Device Manager, and try to install the individual drivers over the IDE ones. All of them return “The specified location does not contain a compatible software driver for your device. If the location contains a driver, make sure it is designed to work with Windows for x64-based systems.” Any way to fix this?
