HP ENVY Desktop PC TE02-0000i (3Y3Q8AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Had enough opposing answers as necessary to completely dumbfound me

(truthfully, to irritate the crap out of me!!  Figure if ANY one should know......)

(references- YouTube/HP chat/web search/BestBuy-GeekSquad/MicroCenter)

YES:  "completely 'shut down' your new desktop periodically....weekly...daily...?"

NO:  "with the newer/your current level of technology, it's no longer necessary to

         'shut down' your desktop to prevent any damage/'freeze-up'/'tech-block'(?)"

fyi: seems this should be obvious; DO have a complete Security Suite installed.

@TexasIndian,

Greetings, @TexasIndian,

I would suggest/recommend a hybrid solution: once you're done with your PC, choose the 🌙 "Sleep" option.

Hope this was helpful.

Kind Regards,
