@Sarankumaar, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Desktop is showing “Choose your keyboard layout”, it typically means Windows is unable to boot properly and has entered the Recovery Environment (WinRE). This can happen due to a failed update, corrupted system files, or hardware issues.

Option 1: Use Startup Repair

  1. On the “Choose your keyboard layout” screen, select your preferred layout.
  2. On the next screen, choose Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Repair.
  3. Select your operating system and let Windows attempt to fix startup issues.

Option 2: System Restore

If Startup Repair doesn’t work:

  1. Go to Troubleshoot > Advanced options > System Restore.
  2. Choose a restore point before the issue started and follow the prompts.

Option 3: Reset Your PC

If System Restore fails:

  1. Go to Troubleshoot > Reset this PC.
  2. Choose Keep my files (recommended) or Remove everything.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Additional Tips:

  • If you have important data and want to back it up before resetting, consider creating a bootable USB with recovery tools like HP Cloud Recovery or Windows Media Creation Tool.
  • If none of the above options work, you may need to reinstall Windows using a USB recovery drive.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
