I am experiencing an issue with my **HP Envy x360 Convertible running Windows. The laptop became unresponsive after a Windows update alert, and upon restarting, it is now stuck in an **Automatic Repair** loop.
Here are the details of the issue:
- The laptop continuously attempts to load the **Automatic Repair**, but it never completes.
- I have tried accessing **Advanced Startup Options** but haven’t been able to do so, as it directly goes to the **Automatic Repair** screen.
- I ran hardware diagnostics from the BIOS, and all tests (memory, processor, hard drive, etc.) have passed, indicating no hardware failure.
- I’ve attempted to adjust the boot order in the BIOS, and I ensured that **OS Boot Manager** is set as the first boot option.
- I also reset the BIOS settings to default, but the issue persists.
The laptop still does not boot into Windows and remains stuck in the **Automatic Repair** screen. I would appreciate assistance in resolving this issue and getting the system to boot normally.

If the update was the KB5043145 of October 1 then you need to uninstall the update.
Boot into safe mode and either uninstall the update or find a restore point to go back to
Since Windows cannot start then you need to enter Windows safe mode from outside of Windows
First read this article about safe mode. Skip down to 'Enter safe mode from outside windows. If F11 does not get you into system recovery then try turning the power on and off three or more times in a row.
Since the startup repair fails then do the restore point.
This video describes how to use a restore point. Ignore that it shows windows working. Clicking on "System restore" will bring up the list of restore points similar to what is in the below video.
