Hi @Rayarchavda,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thank you for reaching out. I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing this issue with your HP laptop.

From your description, it sounds like the notebook attempts to power on, the power indicator illuminates for a couple of seconds, and then the system shuts off before it can complete the startup process. This can occur due to a BIOS issue, a hardware component preventing the system from completing POST (Power-On Self-Test), or a power-related problem.

Before we proceed, could you please provide a few more details?

  • What is the exact HP laptop model or Product Number?
  • Did this issue begin after a BIOS update, Windows update, or any recent hardware changes?
  • When the notebook powers off, do you notice any Caps Lock or Num Lock LEDs blinking in a pattern? If so, please let us know how many times they blink before pausing and repeating.
  • Do you hear any beep codes or unusual sounds during startup?
  • Does the notebook behave the same way with the AC adapter connected?

Please try an HP BIOS Recovery

If the BIOS has become corrupted, the built-in BIOS Recovery may restore it.

  1. Turn the notebook off completely.
  2. Press and hold the Windows + B keys.
  3. While holding those keys, press and hold the Power button for 2–3 seconds, then release only the Power button.
  4. Continue holding the Windows + B keys until you see the HP BIOS Recovery or HP BIOS Update screen, or until you hear beeps, then release the keys.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions if the recovery starts.

Test with an External Display

If you have access to an external monitor or TV, please connect it to the laptop using the appropriate video cable (HDMI, DisplayPort, etc.) and then try powering on the notebook.

Let us know:

  • Does the external monitor display the HP logo, any error message, or any video output?
  • Or does the notebook still power off after a couple of seconds with no display on either screen?

Once you provide the requested information and let us know the results of the BIOS Recovery and external monitor test, we'll be happy to guide you with the next appropriate steps.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!

I'm an HP Employee.
