OMEN by HP - 17-w253dx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I recently bought a used Omen 17 W253dx gaming laptop from my brother in-law. I have not used it for any gaming yet but have used it  for web browsing and downloading files from Patreon. Today I was on the web, closed the laptop and left it charging, a few hours later I hear the fan kick on. I think that's weird so I open the laptop. Fans fully on keyboard back light is on but screen does not come on. I tap the power button, nothing. I try again, still nothing. I hold the power button for over a minute, fans still running lights still on, No response. I decide to take the battery out and unplug it. Wait a minute, as soon as I put battery back in fan kicks on and keyboard light comes on. Tried power button again, nothing. Unhook battery and power, leave laptop for a couple hours. Come back problem persists. All power is disconnected from laptop right now. Any insight would be much appreciated!

@BrutalFox -- I decide to take the battery out and unplug it.

After doing so, did you hold-down the ON/OFF button for a few seconds, to "drain" any residual power?

Thank you for the response. Yes I did press the power button while all power was disconnected
