I used my laptop around 4:00 yesterday and it world perfectly fine. I put it away per usual but when I took it out later that night, it wouldn’t turn on. Assuming it was dead, I plugged it in but now it’s fully charged and won’t power on and whenever I hold down the power button it makes a little dun dun noise at me…very ominous… if anyone knows how to fix this I’d love some help!

Hi @Laptoplover4000,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
When your HP Notebook 15 laptop makes an unusual noise and won’t turn on, it’s often a sign of a hardware issue or a system error. Here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot.
Perform a Hard Reset:
- Disconnect the laptop from any power source and remove any connected devices.
- If your model has a removable battery, remove it. Hold down the power button for 15–20 seconds to drain any residual power.
- Reinsert the battery (if removable) and plug in the charger, then try turning on the laptop.
Check Power and Battery LED Indicators:
- Connect your charger and look for any lights near the charging port or on the power button. If the LED light blinks or changes color, note the pattern, as it might be a code for a specific issue.
Attempt a BIOS Reset:
- Hold the Windows key + B, then press and hold the Power button for a few seconds to force the laptop to attempt a BIOS reset.
- This can sometimes resolve issues if there's a BIOS configuration problem.
Listen for Beeps or Other Error Patterns:
- If the laptop makes a series of beeps or a repeating pattern when you press the power button, this could indicate a hardware issue. Look up the beep code pattern for HP laptops if this occurs.
Disconnect and Reconnect Internal Hardware (if possible):
- If you're comfortable, try removing and reconnecting the RAM and storage drive, as loose components can sometimes prevent boot-up. (This should be done carefully to avoid static damage.)
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
