Hi @Danyalle
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Stream 14 laptop is stuck on the BIOS update screen, here are some steps you can take to try to resolve the issue:
1. Wait It Out
Sometimes BIOS updates can take longer than expected. If it’s been less than an hour, it might be worth waiting a bit longer.
2. Force Restart
If it's clear that the update has stalled (e.g., no progress for a long time):
- Press and hold the power button until the laptop powers off.
- Wait a few seconds, then turn it back on.
3. Reset BIOS
If the laptop doesn't boot after restarting:
- Turn off the laptop, then disconnect the power adapter and remove the battery (if removable).
- Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds to discharge any residual power.
- Reconnect the battery and power adapter, then try to turn it on again.
4. Use Recovery Options
If it still doesn't boot:
- On startup, repeatedly press the F11 key (or the key specific to your laptop) to enter the Recovery Menu.
- From there, you can try the “Troubleshoot” and then “Reset this PC” options.
5. Recover BIOS
If you have access to another computer, you can create a BIOS recovery USB drive:
- Visit the HP support website, look for your laptop model, and download the BIOS file.
- Follow instructions for creating a BIOS recovery USB drive.
- Insert the USB into your laptop and boot from it, following the prompts to recover the BIOS.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
