Windows 11 is not booting, it gets stuck on the hp logo screen and the fans start to be loud. However, if i open and close the bios before the system start up it works fine. I have checked all BIOS configuration and is correct for Windows 11. I have also updated the BIOS. Nothing seems to work

Greetings @GordoComensal

Welcome to the HP Forum.

That's an unusual symptom. You might want to copy and paste this question in the HP Notebook Forum Boards.

I can only suggest replacing the CR2032 MB battery. Replacing the MB battery in a Laptop PC is not as easy as a Desktop PC.

Can't guarantee it will fix the problem but it's a cheap troubleshooting step to try. Plus, doing this will reset CMOS to defaults.

Thanks for the suggestion, the strange thing is that I have two laptops that are exactly the same in terms of hardware and they have started having the same problem in the same week.

My pleasure.

That is strange.

Do you recall getting Windows updates or updates from HPSA prior to seeing this symptom on both PCs?

Probably an automatic update. I have aready tried to reinstall Windows 11 and the issue persists.

It would be very unusual seeing two similar PCs having the same hardware problem at the same time. But check both PC's hardware using HP Diagnostics as follows:

Start the PC. Repeatedly tap the "ESC" key.

Select "F2". Run system and component tests to confirm: a drive problem, a memory problem, or other component problem. Run extensive tests.

I had already checked, everything seems to be correct.

You did reinstall Windows and saw no change in behavior.

Do you have any unusual USB peripherals connected to both PCs?

Use your PC's serial number to check for a BIOS update at this HP Site. It seems like a BIOS problem or a MB problem if the system drive and memory passed HP Diagnostics tests.

The BIOS can't talk to the Windows boot loader.

Disable Device Encryption in Control Panel, if applicable, before doing a BIOS update.

Newer HP PCs usually enable Device Encryption at initial (OOBE) on a W11 Home setup. Your PC may not have this option enabled.

I give up. Don't know what is going on. 😕

The BIOS has a problem talking to the Windows boot loader or the system disk is messed up. The BIOS can't talk to the Windows EFI System Partition (where the Windows Boot Loader is) unless you: open the BIOS, save and exit the BIOS, and restart the PC.

Having two similar PCs with the same problem is very unusual. You did reinstall Windows on both PCs. So this seems to point to a BIOS/MB problem.

I don't know!
