HP Recommended
Microsoft Windows 11

I have an HP Probook 830 G8.

I removed the back to upgrade to a 1TB ssd only to find that the laptop would not switch on.

Having tried various troubleshooting including different HP power supplies, hard resets, reseating all the hardware the issue has now morphed into something different.

Now I will hold the power button down for 20 secs (with and without AC power) to switch the laptop off. After a few seconds the caps lock button will light up for a few seconds then go off. Immediately after this the laptop switches itself on (with and without AC power), the F5 and F8 buttons have amber lights on, the power button has a white light and down the side next to the power slot there is a flashing orange light that keeps flashing. In addition to this, the fan is going nuts and the laptop will not boot up. I have tried pressing esc continuously a couple of times but nothing happens, I am unable to get into the bios.

Does anyone have any idea what the issue might be?
