Hi @John24036,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thanks for explaining the issue. If your HP computer gets stuck on “Please wait” after pressing F11 (which is for System Recovery) and just spins on boot, it likely indicates a corrupted recovery partition or boot configuration issue.

Here’s how you can troubleshoot and possibly fix it:

1. Try a Hard Reset

  • Power off the computer.
  • Unplug the power cord (and battery if removable).
  • Hold the power button for 15 seconds.
  • Reconnect the power and try booting again.

2. Use F2 to Run Diagnostics

  • Turn on the PC and immediately press F2 repeatedly.
  • Run the System Tests (especially memory and hard drive).
  • Let me know if any test fails.

3. Try Booting into Safe Mode

  • Turn on the PC and press F8 or Shift + F8 (older systems) repeatedly.
  • If you see Advanced Boot Options, choose Safe Mode.
  • If this works, we can repair from within Windows.

4. Create a Windows 11 Recovery USB

If F11 recovery is broken, you can use another PC to create a bootable USB:

5. Check for BIOS Recovery

  • Turn off the PC.
  • Press and hold Windows + B, then press and hold the Power button for 2–3 seconds.
  • Release the power button, but keep holding Windows + B.
  • If BIOS recovery starts, follow the prompts.

I hope this helps.

Take care, and have an amazing day!
