Got an error beep code. Beeps only once. I looked up what it meant and it says this... Legacy floppy drive or CD/DVD drive error. What does this mean? Do I need to replace something? I'm not a tech person so lamen terms would be nice. Thanks!

My desktop is in the same date range as yours -- and it has beeped once when I start or reboot it for as long as I have had it.

And I can assure you, there is no floppy drive or CD/DVD drive issue with it.

I wish that was the case but mine beeps at a consistent pace. The screen is also black. So, it's not usable until whatever is making it beep gets fixed. Thanks for your help!

OK, then see if anything in this identifies the issue:

Well, I'm still having the same error beep code. I can't figure out what is holding this up. Do I need a new hard drive to fix this? All your help is SOOOOOO appreciated!
