My 750-425qe desktop suddenly goes into lockdown for no reason. I suspected a battery issue with my UPS so I plugged directly into wall - same problem. It's running Win10 64 bit with an Intel i7-6700 cpu and 12 GB RAM. No external evidence of heating.

@Bobborn -- can you please define "lockdown" ?
Do you mean that the screen freezes, and your computer stops reacting to your keyboard & your mouse?
Does the screen go "dark", but you still hear the fans running?
If you press the Open/Close button on your CD/DVD drive, does the unit open/close?
Does your computer go completely quiet, with NO sound from any internal fan(s)?
Are there any lit-up lamps on the computer's case that have all gone "dark" ?
