HP All-in-One PC 22-df1000i (1W767AV)

I have an All-In-One desktop. I turn it on, it goes to the log in screen. When I type in my pin, it just keeps scrolling. Any suggestions?

Hi @Georgeisak,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP All-in-One PC 22 is stuck on the login screen and keeps scrolling when you type your PIN, try these troubleshooting steps.

Check for Stuck Keys or Mouse Issues

  • Unplug the keyboard and mouse, then try using the on-screen keyboard (Click the accessibility icon on the login screen).
  • If the issue stops, your keyboard or mouse might be faulty—try a different one.

Restart Your PC

  • Hold the power button for about 10 seconds to force a shutdown.
  • Turn it back on and see if the issue persists.

Boot Into Safe Mode

  • Restart your PC and as soon as it starts, repeatedly press F8 or Shift + F8 (if available).
  • Select Safe Mode with Networking and try logging in.
  • If successful, update your keyboard, mouse, and Windows.

Try an Alternate Login Method

  • Click Sign-in options and try logging in with your password instead of a PIN.
  • If you are using a Microsoft account, try resetting your password online at Microsoft Password Reset.

Perform Startup Repair

  • Turn off the PC and turn it on while holding Shift to boot into Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE).
  • Select Advanced options > Troubleshoot > Startup Repair.

Create a New User Account

If you can access Safe Mode:

  • Open Command Prompt as Admin.
  • Type: net user NewUser /add
  • Restart and try logging in with the new account.

System Restore

If the problem started recently:

  • Boot into WinRE (see Step 5).
  • Select Advanced options > System Restore and choose a restore point.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
