Logging on to PC

HP Recommended
Pavilion series
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (32-bit)

I turned on my PC for the first time in a year and the screen is asking for my password. When it didn't work, I reset my password on my Microsoft account.

when I enter that, it asks for the last password used on this PC, and I don't know it!

@Amynmc -- when I enter that, it asks for the last password used on this PC

Did you have a working Internet connection when you tried to enter the new password?

Did you correctly enter the new password?

Did Windows offer you any other options, such as asking one of your "security questions", or sending a text-message to your mobile-phone?
