Hi @V8SRX2007,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're trying to reset the login password for an HP desktop, you generally have a few options.

Resetting Password Using Another Admin Account:

  • If there’s another administrator account on the computer, you can log in with that account and reset the password for the account you're having trouble with.

Password Reset Disk:

  • If a password reset disk was created before the password was forgotten, you can use it to reset the password.

Safe Mode:

  • Boot into Safe Mode. Sometimes, you might be able to access the built-in Administrator account (if it was enabled) and reset the password from there.

Using Microsoft Account:

  • If the computer is using a Microsoft account for login, you can reset the password online at the Microsoft Account Password Reset page.

System Recovery:

  • If none of the above methods work and you have a backup of your data, you might consider performing a system recovery or factory reset. Be aware that this will erase all data on the computer. To do this:
    • Restart the computer and repeatedly press the F11 key to access Recovery Mode.
    • Follow the on-screen instructions to restore the computer to factory settings.

If you don’t need to preserve data, a factory reset is a viable option, but it’s best to try the password reset methods first to avoid losing any data.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
