So I am working on a HP omen gt13-1194.
Here's what I believe has happened.
Someone loaded the second generation's board bios on to the computer.
Why they were even able to do this I am not sure but instead of f13 they're running like F18 or f19.
It will boot however it cannot talk to the CPU or the system fan and therefore I am in a loop.
Other than going into the bios to try to adjust something if it tries to boot it shuts down after 15 seconds.
I want to load the proper bios but since the buyers is an executable even if I go into the HP portion and say upload bios it does not allow.
The bios once again that you can download for this is an executable that since I cannot get into Windows since it will shut down after 15 seconds I am in a catch-22.
Is there an expanded raw version of the BIOS that I can use?
At this point short of it being bricked I have thought about trying the secondary versions 13A to see if it's close enough.
And then try to update to the correct.
But it would be a lot easier if you all had or could generate me the raw bios file that the HP bios updater would take.
Do you have such a file or can you recommend something?

Last word.
So on another HP machine not an omen I was able to extract the bios.
Unfortunately I could not Flash any bios to the machine.
I'm positive I had the correct one I even tried several incorrect ones considering the original problem.
Even tried rolling back the bias but each time I got that it could not read the verification file.
I look to see if anyone else had anything to fix this problem but.
Could not immediately find anything at this point I'm giving up and calling the board bricked.
Thanks for the help.

There isn't anything like that, but what you can do is to use another Windows PC and make a USB BIOS recovery flash drive with the F.13 BIOS file.
The is link explains how to create a BIOS recovery flash drive.
Updating the BIOS on HP Consumer Desktops outside of Windows 11| HP Computers| HP Support
After you create the USB BIOS recovery drive, follow the instructions that show up on the screen after the USB recovery drive has been successfully created.

I thought of that I actually downloaded it and ran the executable which does nothing on a non HP / omen pc.
I even renamed the file to dot zip to see if I could extract it and I could not.
The executable that downloads does extract another executable.
Which the instructions say to run it inside of windows.
Again Catch 22.
Now I'm not sure that I actually renamed the executable that extracts to dot zip.
I could give that a try.
But considering all the other bioses at least for the second generation board seems to be Raw uploadable files from the HP utility.
I was kind of hoping.
Again I didn't make this mess and I'm not 100% sure that Windows didn't try and update the bios itself.
As the person that owns the PC say that they did not attempt to do an update.
They looked but given the confusion around this OEM board they chickened out.
But to come around to the problem again I cannot boot Windows because the system thinks that both the CPU fan and one of the systems are not connected which I believe is because it is using a firmware that is identifying the wrong address for it to find both fans.
Anything that I could do to bypass this and boot into windows so that I could run that executable would also work for me.
If it is not possible I have an MSI b550 board on standby but I'm hoping not to have to do that.
To be clear also I attempted to read the executable in the HP diagnostic software that allows you to update the bios.
It would not pick up and read the file.
Maybe if somebody knows if I could rename it to something where it would read it I could try that but.
The HP bios software which is offered will not read anything that was extracted from the download using the serial number of the motherboard to get the BIOS.
Again Catch 22.
If somebody has one of these systems and could extract a raw file that I could do this with, please.
Or someone could instruct me how I can extract it out of the executable, please.

I tried to run the file on my Dell Optiplex 7020 and I got an error that stated in substance that Windows blocked a file from opening.
That's the first time I got an error like that.
Unfortunately, I can't help you any further with this problem.

Thanks for trying.
I'm hoping somebody can help with getting around this so I don't have to trash the board.
Again the person I'm working for claims that they did not update so the only other explanation is Microsoft update loaded the firmware update for this.
I looked around but I haven't found anyone else complaining that this is happened to them.
Like Dr House people lie.
But I can't prove it yet.
This is such a problem that I would love to figure out a way to get around.
As a matter of fact originally we thought that the water cooler with the system had failed.
We replaced and it worked for a short period of time and then failed again.
I have no idea the magic that I Unleashed to cause it to work for a short period of time.
I have attempted to reset the bios multiple times but cannot get it to get around this problem to let me boot longer than 15 seconds.
So again if somebody can figure out a way to get the raw version of the file or tell me how I can get around the 15 second time out before the system shuts down.
Either one would get me going.
I have tried other fans PE boot taking the cmos battery out.
Dead chicken.
Of course I couldn't afford a live chicken and kill it over top of it.
Can only get a Walmart Frozen one.
But the witch doctor I consulted said it should not matter.
Again it's just one of those little things that is on the edge that just drives you crazy.

Another thought that I had if somebody has a similar system that could download on that system and extract the raw bios file.
And possibly set it up in a Dropbox or something.
I'm limited on that system what I can do.
And since I do not have another.
Again I have a solution if I replace the board.
But it would be lovely if someone had a solution for either bypassing the fans or to get me the raw file.
And while you're at it winning lottery numbers.
Recipe for the perfect martini.
Etc etc.
