I have an Hp Monitor F1903 that is not turning on and the power button is blinking on and off. I tried unplugging while holding the mysterious, vaguely-described, "side button" for 5 seconds, plugging back in while remaining to hold "side button" for an additional 5 seconds to no avail. Also tried this with the power button just to see if it would work. SOS.

Hi @coreysgirl22,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to assist you.

I see that you are facing an issue with your HP monitor that is not powering on.

Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

Check Connections: Ensure all cables are securely connected. This includes the power cable and the video cable (VGA, DVI, HDMI) connecting the monitor to your computer.

Try a Different Cable: If possible, swap out the video cable with another one to rule out a faulty cable.

Test with Another Device: Connect the monitor to a different computer or device to see if it powers on. This helps determine if the issue is with the monitor or the original device.

Reset the Monitor:

  • Unplug the monitor from the power source.
  • Hold down the power button for about 10-15 seconds.
  • Plug the monitor back in while still holding the power button for another 10 seconds.
  • Release the button and try turning it on.

Inspect for Damage: Look for any visible damage on the cables or the monitor itself, particularly around the ports.

Factory Reset: If you can access the monitor menu (which might be tricky if it won't turn on), look for a factory reset option in the settings.

Please mark this post as “Accepted Solution” if the issue is resolved and if you feel this reply was helpful click “Yes”.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a great day ahead!
