HP Recommended

I have checked the power supply. The light is on in the back where the power cord plugs in. I have tried unplugging it. I have tried holding the power button for an extended period of time. A white light does come on in the base but as soon as I let go of the button it goes out. I also cannot hear anything running when the light does come on.
