Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

The power lock won't allow comp to turn on. I don't have a code to bypass this and HP no longer supports this unit. So am looking for an answer pass this feature

Hi @Cabinut1,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If the power lock on your HP Pavilion 23-H110 TouchSmart All-In-One Desktop PC is preventing it from turning on, you may try the following steps to troubleshoot the issue.

Hard Reset:

  • Shut down the computer completely.
  • Disconnect the power cable from the back of the computer.
  • Press and hold the power button on the front of the computer for 15 seconds.
  • Reconnect the power cable and turn on the computer.

Check the Power Source:

  • Ensure that the power outlet is working properly.
  • Try plugging the computer into a different power outlet.

External Devices:

  • Disconnect all external devices (such as USB drives, printers, etc.) and try turning on the computer again.

Memory and Reseating:

  • If you are comfortable doing so, open the case and reseat the memory modules (RAM).
  • Ensure all internal components are properly connected.

CMOS Battery Reset:

  • Locate the CMOS battery on the motherboard (a coin-cell battery).
  • Disconnect it for a few minutes and then reconnect it. This may reset the BIOS settings.

Check for Physical Damage:

  • Inspect the computer for any signs of physical damage or loose connections.

If none of the above steps resolves the issue, it's possible that there may be a more complex hardware problem.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
